A traditional Tahitian wedding is a vibrant and spiritual ceremony, deeply rooted in Polynesian culture. A Tahitian priest (Tahu'a) or a community elder officiates the ceremony, invoking ancestral blessings and the spirits of nature.
The couple exchange vows in the Tahitian language, sometimes accompanied by symbolic rituals such as binding hands with coconut fibers or wrapping in a ceremonial tapa cloth. Traditional drumming, singing, and dancing ('Ori Tahiti) create an atmosphere that is both joyful and sacred.
